Itinerary

DAY 1, Friday - Arrive in Cairo, Welcome Dinner with Lecture
Arrive in Cairo, transfer to your hotel and check in to your room. This evening join your fellow Gutsy passengers for a welcome dinner and lecture by your professional Egyptologist tour manager.

DAY 2, Saturday - Cairo City Tour, Pyramids & Museum of Egyptian Antiquities
Begin the day with a panoramic city tour of Cairo, including a visit to the ancient Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx. Continue to visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, with its dazzling treasures of King Tutankhamen and his remains, which date back some 3,350 years. The museum houses some of antiquity's most astounding relics, including Greek, Roman, and Islamic artifacts as well as the mummy of Ramses III, the warrior pharaoh. The balance of the day is at leisure.

DAY 3, Sunday - Flight to Luxor
This morning transfer the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in to your room. Enjoy free time this afternoon to explore your new surrounding with your travel companions.

DAY 4, Monday - Embark Cruise, Temples of Karnak & Luxor
After breakfast, transfer to the pier. Upon arrival, board your Nile cruise ship, which serves as your floating hotel for the next three nights. After having a chance to settle in, visit the East Bank and see the Karnak and Luxor temples. The Karnak temple complex, an enormous site that is generally considered the most impressive open-air museum in the world. After dinner onboard the ship, enjoy a belly dancing performance.

DAY 5, Tuesday - Valley of the Kings
Start the day with a visit to the West Bank of the Nile and see the famous Valley of the Kings, Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut at El Deir el-Bahari and, of course, the colossi of Memnon. After a morning of captivating sightseeing, return to the ship to have lunch. This evening enjoy a welcome drink with the ship's Captain. Following dinner, be treated to some musical entertainment.

DAY 6, Wednesday - Horus Temple in Edfu
Today you will sail to Edfu and visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, one of Egypt's most well preserved temples. Buried under the sand for centuries, today this incredible structure remains almost entirely intact, giving visitors a true glimpse back in time. Continue on to Kom Ombo and tour a temple shared by two gods, Sobek and Horus, which houses some fine examples of Ancient Egyptian friezes. Tonight celebrate a traditional Egyptian Galabya party on board the ship.

DAY 7, Thursday - Aswan High Dam
Continue up the river Nile to Aswan where you will visit the massive High Dam, Philae Temple and the Granite Quarries, where the Unfinished Obelisk lies. After lunch, you will sail around Kitchener's Island by Felucca, an unforgettable experience. After dinner tonight, enjoy an evening of Nubian folkloric performances.

DAY 8, Friday - Flight to Cairo
After breakfast, disembark the cruise and transfer to the airport in Aswan for your flight back to Cairo. The balance of the day is yours at leisure to relax or shop.

DAY 9, Saturday - Full Day in Cairo
Enjoy a full day in Cairo to explore this ancient city with your new friends. A city that straddles time, Cairo's history spans from the dawn of civilization to the present. It is also the perfect jumping-off point for tours to the grand city of Alexandria.

DAY 10, Sunday - Old Coptic Cairo Tour, Camel Ride & Farewell Dinner
Today, discover the ancient quarter of Cairo as if you were transported six or seven centuries into the past. Journey through the winding narrow streets of the Citadel and admire the architectural grandeur of the city. With countless sites to see, this amazing district of Cairo is sure to leave you in awe. Following your tour of the Citadel, enjoy a scenic and fun camel ride. This evening join your travel companions for dinner to bid farewell to the land of the pharaohs and reminisce about your shared adventures.

DAY 11, Monday - Depart Egypt

A $250 per person non-refundable deposit is required to convert your Quote Request to a confirmed Reservation. We limit our tours to a maximum of 20 participants so we suggest you deposit early to guarantee your spot.
 
Single Room - one person, traveling solo in single accommodation
Double Room - two people, traveling together in same accommodation
Shared Room - one person, traveling solo who would like to share with another passenger and pay the per person "Double" price (Share rate is guaranteed if deposit is made at least 90 days prior to "Trip Begins" date.)
