Enjoy breathtaking views of the Canadian countryside on your way to Quebec City. DAY 5, Wednesday - Quebec City Tour, French-Canadian Cooking Class
This morning, become acquainted with your surroundings on a guided city tour that includes a stop at the Citadel, where you will learn the cross-cultural history of the First Nations people, French, English and Americans. Explore the cherished sites and sounds of Quebec's Old City, including the Notre-Dame de Québec Cathedral, the Plains of Abraham, and the National Assembly. This afternoon, the funicular will take you to the Historic Old Port for a cooking class on traditional Quebecois cuisine at Les Artistes de la Table. Under the direction of an accredited chef, you will execute the recipes in paired groups, where you can observe the work of others and exchange notes throughout the process. Since the class is a combination of demonstration and participation, with the latter strongly emphasized, feel free to ask questions as you prepare each course, as inquiries are welcomed by the chef and are an important part of the culinary process. The class menu features an array of French-Canadian specialties including Marinated Quebec Lake Trout, Sautéed Duck Foie Gras, Duck Magrets, and Maple Soufflé. Afterward, relax for a late lunch with a glass of wine and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Overnight: Quebec City

DAY 6, Thursday - Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre
Today, climb aboard a cable car to visit the Parc de la chute-Montmorency, one of Quebec's premier natural sites. From here, visit the Basilica of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre. Surmounted by a vast pyramidal dome with divine lighting, the church is an important Catholic sanctuary, visited by an estimated 500,000 pilgrims each year. The basilica grounds contain a wooded hillside and memorial chapel. Tonight, enjoy a fabulous farewell dinner.
